Preventing the leading causes of collisions with new safety AI models

Driver fatigue, lane swerving, and unsafe parking lead to thousands of preventable collisions for drivers across industries. At Vision 25, Motive introduced three new AI safety models designed to address these risks head-on:

• Fatigue Index analyzes more than 10 fatigue indicators — like yawning, eye rubbing, and lack of movement — to detect and alert to drowsy driving before a crash occurs.
  
• Lane Swerving Detection flags repeated swerving over time, often a sign of fatigue or distraction.
  
• The nationwide shortage of safe parking puts drivers at risk. Unsafe Parking Detection alerts managers in real time when a vehicle stops in a high-risk area to help prevent “sitting duck” collisions.

The Motive Driver Safety solution leverages generative AI to simulate, annotate, and train AI models on tens of thousands of real-world scenarios. 

The result: highly accurate, contextually-aware AI that acts in real time to alert drivers with life-saving speed — Motive customers can reduce collisions by 80% within a year of deploying AI Dashcams.

AI Coach makes timely, consistent coaching a snap

Vision attendees heard from Texas Head Coach Steve Sarkisian about the power of coaching, and evidence shows that coaching is one of the most effective ways to improve safety. But how do you coach well at scale, when hundreds or thousands of drivers need personalized feedback? 

At Motive, tools like Integrated Coaching and the ability to review safety events in the Driver App have helped manage this complexity. But we wanted to make coaching even more timely, consistent, and scalable.

That’s why we’ve introduced Motive AI Coach, the first and only AI avatar that automatically delivers personalized coaching to drivers.

The avatar is entirely AI-generated — including the video, the audio, and the script — and personalized to reflect each driver’s performance over the past week.

Motive automatically highlights the most severe safety events with the biggest impact on each driver’s Safety Score. Drivers get clear context on what they can do to improve and why it matters. Just like a real coach would provide.

And AI Coach goes beyond safety, providing feedback on fuel efficiency, compliance, and other aspects, so drivers can improve across the board.

AI Assistant alerts to time-sensitive issues so teams can take the right action in real time

Today’s physical operations teams are navigating overwhelming complexity across every aspect of fleet management — from checking fault codes and tracking weather to locating drivers and adjusting dispatches.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce AI Assistant, an agent that operates across the Motive platform. AI Assistant simplifies the day‐to‐day by surfacing critical, contextual insights, alerting to time-sensitive issues, and suggesting the best ways to address them.

Take weather, for example. AI Assistant monitors live weather data, and instantly alerts to events that could impact fleets. With a single click, teams can warn the right people on the road, skipping manual, untargeted communications and getting the right message, to the right drivers, at the right time. 

AI Assistant will be embedded everywhere across the Motive experience, starting with faults and weather. It will soon expand to unsafe parking and other critical real-time situations to deliver more targeted insights, more proactive alerts, and more contextual actions that help organizations save time, money, and hassle.

Stopping fraud before it happens — with the industry’s first $250,000 guarantee

Worldwide card fraud losses are projected to exceed $43 billion in the next year, with U.S. businesses alone expected to lose $12.5 billion to fraud in 2025. A 500-vehicle fleet can lose more than $250,000 a year in unauthorized transactions due to skimming, fuel theft, and out-of-policy spend.

To stem these losses, we’ve introduced new AI-powered fraud controls and the industry’s highest Fraud Protection Guarantee, covering up to $250,000 in losses annually when using Motive Card’s fraud controls.

• Unlike standalone card solutions, Motive combines vehicle telematics data with Motive Card payments data to detect and prevent fraud in real-time. Motive’s AI can automatically decline transactions when:
  • Fuel purchases are made far from the vehicle’s actual location
  • The vehicle’s fuel level is already too high for refueling
  • There is a cheaper alternative nearby
