The Motive AI Dashcam supports live video streaming to give you instant oversight of fleet vehicles and equipment. (Live streaming for the AI Omnicam is coming soon.) 

With live streaming, you can view what’s happening from any Motive-connected camera as it occurs, right inside the Motive Dashboard or Fleet App. 

This streamlines remote onboarding, virtual ride-alongs, and real-time driver coaching. Only users with the necessary permissions can initiate live streams, and visual/audio alerts notify drivers when streaming starts and stops to provide privacy and transparency. 

To use, simply select the vehicle or equipment from the Motive Dashboard, choose the camera feed you want, and click to begin streaming live video.

Yes. Motive supports engine-off recording, allowing you to record and recall continuous video after a vehicle or asset is turned off. 

• For heavy-duty vehicles, Motive cameras can continuously record for 24 hours after the engine is turned off. 
• For light-duty and medium-duty vehicles, Motive cameras can record for 45 minutes after the engine is turned off.

This protects your fleet from hit-and-runs, cargo theft, vandalism, and after-hours incidents. Footage captured during engine-off periods is accessible through the Motive Dashboard, with easy video retrieval for investigations or insurance claims.

360º visibility means you see and capture every critical angle — front, rear, side, and even cargo views — using the combined power of the Motive AI Dashcam and AI Omnicam. This multi-camera coverage removes blind spots, ensuring the full context of every incident is recorded.

Yes. When you install the AI Omnicam standalone, you can easily add video coverage to trailers and other non-motorized assets like flatbeds, tankers, and storage containers. In drop-and-hook operations, where trailers frequently switch trucks, the AI Omnicam remains linked to the trailer, providing continuous tracking and proof of delivery.

The AI Omnicam works independently, with built-in LTE connectivity and simple mounting that requires no Vehicle Gateway, AI Dashcam, or DVR boxes. If GPS functionality is needed, a Motive Asset Gateway can be installed, enabling features like automatic grouping and event tracking.
