New features across the Motive platform help fleets cut costs, prevent fraud, and get more from every dollar.
Motive tools are designed to help organizations prevent fraud, cut costs, and improve efficiency in various aspects of fleet and driver management. These tools encompass features like customizable spend controls, GPS location verification, and savings finders. We explored these capabilities and more at Vision 25: The Motive Innovation Summit. Here are a few topics discussed at a breakout session for power users.
Preventing, detecting, and responding to fraud
Motive Card has built-in fraud detection controls that help managers identify suspicious transactions and take action. These include customizable fraud controls, auto-declines, fuel type mismatch, and mobile-based unlock. Features like these protect fleets from unauthorized transactions and skimming. Not only are organizations saving annually with the Motive Card, but they’re also able to automate administrative work and prevent fraud.
The Motive Vehicle Gateway, Asset Gateway Mini and upcoming Motive Beacon provide geofence alerts when trailers and equipment move unexpectedly. You can also ping them, on demand, without draining the battery.
Cutting costs
Beyond fraud prevention, Motive helps organizations maximize cost savings. Features include savings finders for drivers to locate deals; missed savings analysis for managers; spend controls to set limits; and upcoming driver rewards. GPS data and partner network fuel station information in the Driver App highlight potential savings, further optimizing efficiency and cutting costs.
Improving vehicle and asset utilization
With vehicle fuel reports, downtime tracking, and fuel efficiency insights, Motive features improve profitability beyond just spend. Geofencing is used to verify delivery and work validation, aiding in billing accuracy. Both the Vehicle Gateway and Asset Gateway track engine hours and idling time, distinguishing between productive idling — such as engine hours used to power equipment — and idling that is unproductive.
When vehicles and assets go out-of-service for maintenance, fleet managers can track how long they’ve been down and alert drivers not to use them. As maintenance defects are addressed, they can be prioritized and resolved individually for greater flexibility. These capabilities allow fleets to identify trends and improve utilization efficiency.
Preventing costly accidents and violations
Motive’s comprehensive suite of tools includes integrated coaching for safety and compliance; safety scores to gauge safety performance at a glance; and quick video retrieval. By operating more safely, organizations can reduce risk and improve CSA scores.
Data is shared with the risk management teams at our insurance partners to create tailored risk management programs. By implementing AI dash cams and regularly coaching drivers, fleets can prevent accidents and lower insurance costs.
Conclusion
Motive’s suite of tools creates a trajectory of improvement that lowers costs, ensures smooth operation, and enhances profitability. For organizations looking to maximize profitability, Motive provides the insights and tools necessary to make well-informed decisions and drive success.
