Motive may, from time to time, come into possession of “Biometric Data” – data generated by automatic measurements of an individual’s biological characteristics that are used to identify a specific individual. This Biometric Data may include, for example, a scan of face or hand geometry, a retina or iris scan, fingerprint, or voiceprint.
To the extent that Motive comes into possession of such Biometric Data, Motive will secure it according to the SOC 2/ISO 27001 standards it uses to store other confidential and sensitive personal information. Motive will permanently delete such data in its possession by the earlier of (i) when the initial purpose for having collected or obtained such Biometric Data has been satisfied, or (ii) within 1 year of the last interaction between Motive and the person from whom the Biometric Data was collected. Motive may in its sole discretion elect to suspend this policy to comply with any legal obligation to do so, including a warrant, subpoena, or court order.
Where so required by applicable law, and to the extent that Motive collects Biometric Data from any individual, Motive will obtain written consent before such collection, with the consent specifying, among other things, the Biometric Data being collected, the purpose for the collection, and the length of time for which the Biometric Data will be used and retained. If such legally required consent cannot be captured, Motive shall disable the feature from use within that jurisdiction.
