What is the penalty for not having an ELD?

Non-exempt drivers do face penalties for failure to comply with the ELD mandate.

ELD violations may result in a maximum civil penalty of $1,307 for each day the violation continues, up to $13,072. Additionally, non-exempt drivers who commit an ELD violation are placed out of service if their ELD solution is non-compliant, and they can’t be dispatched on another trip until they’re compliant.
