Frequently asked questions
Who’s eligible for Relay safety rewards?
Carriers who haul Amazon Relay loads collision-free, with an eligible dash cam turned on and uncovered. You must have hauled at least one load in the last year.
How does the per-mile Relay safety rewards payout work?
Your company will receive extra payments every month for all collision-free Relay miles driven by drivers who agreed to share data. Payment won’t show up on your Payments page with Relay — they’ll be sent to your company’s bank account. There will be a note saying that it’s for Relay safety rewards.
Payments are made for miles driven in the previous calendar month. You’ll receive a payout for every 10,000 miles hauled. Any miles left over will carry forward to the next month. For example, if you enroll in the program on June 10 and haul 11,000 collision-free miles during June, then you’ll get per-mile rewards on the first 10,000 miles in July. The leftover 1,000 miles will carry over to your July balance. In July, if you haul 15,000 miles, we’ll combine this with your 1,000-mile balance for a total of 16,000 miles. You’ll receive per-mile rewards for 10,000 miles in August, and 6,000 miles will carry over to your August balance. In August, if you haul 14,000 miles, that brings your total to 20,000 (14,000 plus the 6,000 that carried over). You’ll receive per-mile rewards for the full 20,000 miles in September.
If you enroll in the program mid-month, you’re still eligible for a payout in the following month – as long as you reach 10,000 miles.
What are the Relay safety rewards tiers and payout amounts?
- Your first 50,000 miles will receive $0.02 extra per collision-free mile
- Miles 50,001-200,000 will receive $0.03 extra per collision-free mile
- Miles 200,001-300,000 will receive $0.04 extra per collision-free mile
- Miles 300,001-400,000 will receive $0.05 extra per collision-free mile
For example, if your company hauls 100,000 miles on each of your two tractors (200,000 miles total), you’ll earn $5,500 ($0.02 for the first 50,000 miles = $1,000, $0.03 per mile for the next 150,000 miles = $4,500).
Does Motive’s AI Dashcam require additional data usage on a smartphone?
No. A smart dash cam like ours uses cellular connectivity in Motive’s hardware to upload all triggered video content.
Does the AI Dashcam record the driver?
Motive offers road-facing and dual-facing dash cams to accommodate different fleet safety needs. The road-facing dash cam only has one camera that records what’s on the road. The dual-facing dash cam has a road-facing and driver-facing camera that records in the cab. Administrators can activate Driver Privacy Mode to disable the driver-facing camera. Customers can purchase either AI dash cam.
What is a fleet dash cam?
A fleet dash cam is a specialized camera system designed for commercial vehicles and fleets. It records real-time footage of a vehicle’s surroundings and driver activities to enhance safety, monitor behavior, and provide valuable data for fleet management. Motive also provides cameras with 360-degree coverage.

If you receive Amazon’s support on a dash cam through the program, you must haul at least 12,000 miles with Relay per year.
