AI dash cams have transformed how organisations detect unsafe driving. Drivers are alerted in real-time to correct unsafe behavior, and managers gain visibility into what’s happening on the road.
Motive builds reliable AI models that detect 20+ safety events with up to 99% accuracy. However, no AI model is perfect. False positives can happen, creating noise, extra work for managers, and reduced trust.
That’s why we built EVE, our Event Validation Engine which validates every safety event before they’re delivered to managers, identifying and removing false positives so you don’t have to.
How EVE uses AI to validate safety events.
Motive’s AI Dashcams use on-device AI models to detect unsafe behaviour like mobile phone usage, drowsiness, and lane swerving in real time, alerting drivers immediately to prevent collisions.
Every safety event is then processed by EVE, where cloud-based AI models analyse video, audio, and telematics for every event to validate what actually happened and assign a confidence score.
- High-confidence events are automatically delivered to managers in the Motive Dashboard without human review.
- Low-confidence events are validated within minutes by the Motive Safety Team to remove false positives, so drivers aren’t penalised for mistakes they didn’t make. Only true events are delivered to managers.
By combining AI with targeted human review, EVE delivers both speed and accuracy. AI handles the majority of events instantly, while human reviewers focus only on complex edge cases, protecting your drivers and eliminating time spent on false positives.

Most events are delivered without human review.
More than 80% of safety events validated by EVE are delivered without human review, giving teams fast, reliable visibility into real safety risks.

For the remaining low-confidence events, Motive’s 400+ member global Safety Team reviews them within minutes, operating 24/7 to ensure accuracy and to make sure drivers are never punished for false positives.
Let’s take a look at false positives identified by the team.
AI that gets better over time.
Every event processed through EVE helps improve the system.
When the Safety Team reviews low-confidence events, they identify uncommon edge scenarios where the AI was uncertain whether unsafe behaviour actually occurred. These validated events are used to retrain Motive’s on-device and cloud-based AI models and improve accuracy. Over time, this allows more events to be validated automatically and sent to managers without human review.
This approach to event validation that combines cloud-based AI models with human-in-the-loop review is unique to Motive and included for all customers at no additional cost.
If a customer does not want their safety events validated by the Motive Safety Team, they can choose to validate events with cloud-based AI models only and forgo human review. Identification of life-threatening collisions is not available without the Motive Safety Team.

Less noise. More trust. Fewer accidents.
Many traditional dash cam solutions generate a high volume of false positives, making it hard to focus on real risks.
With EVE, managers can focus on true safety events, not noise. Drivers can trust that when they are flagged, it’s for a real reason. That trust is critical to building a strong safety culture.
Since 2023, the Motive AI Dashcam is estimated to have helped prevent more than 170,000 accidents and saved 1,500 lives. On average, customers have reduced collisions by 80% and accident-related costs by 63%.
